Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete in Chrome, clear Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then restart Chrome and try Bank of America again.^1^
Clear Chrome browsing data
- Open Google Chrome.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Select:
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Select Delete data.
- Close all Chrome windows, reopen Chrome, and sign in again.
Clearing cookies signs you out of websites, but it does not delete saved bookmarks or passwords unless you select those categories.
If Bank of America still does not open
Because the account works in Firefox, test Chrome without its usual extensions and stored session:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + N to open an Incognito window.
- Open Bank of America and try signing in.
- If it works, temporarily disable Chrome extensions—particularly ad blockers, privacy tools, password managers, and security extensions—then enable them individually to identify the conflicting extension. An Incognito test can distinguish an extension, cache, or Chrome-profile issue.^2^
- In Chrome, open Menu (⋮) → Help → About Google Chrome, install any available update, and relaunch. Bank of America recommends current versions of supported browsers, including Chrome.^3^
If the problem continues in an updated Chrome Incognito window but Firefox still works, continue using Firefox temporarily and follow Bank of America’s account-access troubleshooting guidance.^4^
