Hi,

Earlier, Microsoft sold Minecraft Java and Bedrock separately. It is no longer the case since few years, since previously the cost of Java edition was the same as the bundle now.

You can wait for Black Friday deals; it will get cheaper.

If you buy the Minecraft Bundle, your existing worlds won't be lost on Bedrock.

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Wishing you good luck!

If your purchase was Minecraft: Bedrock Edition for Windows PC, sign in to both Microsoft Store and Minecraft Launcher with the purchasing Microsoft account; an eligible PC license should provide access to Java Edition without buying the bundle again.^1^

    Verify the entitlement

    1. Open Microsoft Store, select your profile picture, and check which Microsoft account is signed in.
    2. Open Minecraft Launcher and sign in with that same account.
    3. Select Minecraft: Java Edition:
      • Install or Play means the Java entitlement is recognized.
      • Buy Now means the launcher is not detecting it.
    4. In Microsoft Store, open the page for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. With the correct account signed in, it should display You Own This if the account has the qualifying PC entitlement.^1^

This applies to the Windows PC edition. Owning Bedrock on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, or iOS does not establish ownership of the Java & Bedrock PC bundle.

If the purchase is missing from order history

Because you already checked the purchase history, do not buy the bundle again yet. The likely next issue to resolve is identifying the account that owns the license:

    • In Windows, go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts and review the Microsoft accounts associated with the PC.
    • Search your email accounts for the original Minecraft or Microsoft receipt.
    • Check any alternate email address that you may have used when creating an Xbox profile or gamertag.

Microsoft documents these locations as ways to identify an account previously used for purchases and services.^2^

For each plausible personal Microsoft account, sign into Microsoft Store first, then Minecraft Launcher, and repeat the ownership check above. Purchases and game licenses remain associated with the account that acquired them; they do not automatically move between Microsoft accounts.

If the correct account still shows “Buy Now”

If Microsoft Store recognizes the PC bundle as owned but Java still shows Buy Now, contact Minecraft Support and request an entitlement review. Include:

    • Your Xbox gamertag.
    • Approximate purchase date.
    • The platform purchased: Windows PC.
    • A screenshot showing You Own This, if available.
    • The payment statement or receipt, with sensitive payment details hidden.
    • A description that Bedrock launches from the account but Java is not granted.

If neither the Store nor Launcher recognizes ownership and no order appears, support will need proof that the original purchase was the Windows PC version and determine which account received it. Do not post receipts, email addresses, transaction numbers, or payment information publicly.
