I have the free edition of Azure, with $200 credit. I can't seem to create an agent with voice for questions/answers.

For a voice Q&A agent, create the agent in Microsoft Foundry with Interaction mode = Voice.

    Steps:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft Foundry portal.
    2. Open the target project.
    3. Go to Agents.
    4. Select Build an agent.
    5. Enter the agent name.
    6. Under Interaction mode, select Voice.
    7. Select Create agent and open playground.

    Important details:

    • Interaction mode can’t be changed after creation. If a text agent was already created, a new agent must be created and Voice must be selected during creation.
    • The initial managed voice configuration is designed to start a session immediately. Portal values are the authoritative defaults.
    • To test the agent, use the agent playground after creation.

If using the older classic experience, Voice Live can also be tried from the Speech playground by selecting an existing agent, but that classic integration is deprecated as of August 31, 2026.
