Hi @Peter Lothian,
In Excel for the web, there is currently no built-in option to make a workbook automatically open on either the worksheet that was most recently edited by any user or the worksheet that was most recently created.
As a practical workaround that came to mind, you may want to consider adding a permanent Current Week worksheet as the first tab in the workbook. For example, if the latest schedule is on the 10-12-2026 worksheet, you could add an "Open this week's schedule" link on the Current Week sheet. To do this, select Insert > Link, choose Location in this file, and enter '10-12-2026'!A1 as the target. When a new weekly worksheet is added, simply update the link to point to the new sheet name.
While this will not change the worksheet that Excel displays automatically when the workbook is reloaded, it can provide users with a clear and consistent way to quickly navigate to the current schedule.
Please understand that this is a user-to-user support forum. I am not part of the Microsoft product team and therefore cannot influence or change this behavior. I'm simply a fellow Excel user sharing a workaround that may be helpful in your scenario. I hope you can review it and see whether it fits your requirements.
Thanks you so much for taking the time!
