Application Insights misclassifying browser/server exceptions

Hello,

I am feeding Azure Application Insights from my App Service for containers (Node.js) .

This application is generating server exceptions which are correctly classified under "Failures" > "Exceptions" under the "Server" tab as shown below:

And there are no exceptions under the "Browser" tab:Screenshot 2026-10-07 at 11.09.36

I have created an alert rule on the "Server exceptions" signal name a long time ago and this worked fine.
Recently the alerts have stopped triggering and apparently these "Server exceptions" have now move to the "Browser exceptions" signal, which confuses our dev teams (since different teams are responsable for these)

Any help on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated
