Hi Support Rookie,
Thank you for sharing the NDR and the mailbox folder statistics.
Since the failure occurs when both internal and external users send meeting invitations, the issue appears to be on the affected mailbox rather than with the sender or the Outlook client.
- If you are the Microsoft 365 administrator, you can run the following command to collect additional Calendar folder details:
Get-MailboxFolderStatistics -Identity ******@domain.com -FolderScope Calendar |
Select-Object Name,FolderPath,FolderType,ContainerClass,FolderId,ItemsInFolder
- You may also test the affected mailbox in Outlook on the web by opening the Calendar and creating a test appointment. However, do not delete or recreate the current Calendar folder, as it contains existing calendar items and may be linked to the mailbox’s default-folder configuration.
If the /Calendar folder continues to appear as User Created, or invitations continue to fail with the same WrongObjectTypeException, I recommend that your Microsoft 365 administrator open a support request with Microsoft Support through Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & support. They have access to backend configurations and can perform a more in-depth investigation. At the very least, they can provide the most effective workaround to ensure your experience remains smooth and secure.
When opening the request, please include the complete NDR, message trace details, the PowerShell output, and the date and time of a recent failed invitation.
I hope this information helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
