Hi!
Windows asked for your Windows Hello PIN—which is a unique code for the computer itself, not your account password. You likely entered your account password instead, causing Windows to lock you out due to unsuccessful attempts.
You mentioned waiting 12 hours, but did you keep the computer turned on during that time?
You can also try resetting or reconfiguring the PIN.
Go to Windows Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > PIN.
- First, try changing the PIN using the "I forgot my PIN" option. It will ask for the password of the account linked to Windows (you can check which account is linked under Settings > Accounts > Your info; look below your profile picture).
- If that doesn't work, click the "Remove" button, follow the steps to remove the PIN, restart your computer, and try again.
