Share the video to your OneDrive (or other cloud account) and download from the cloud to your computer. Bonus: You have a backup copy in the cloud.

    Hi,

As per checking, you can use the the Photos app. But first, connect the phone to the Surface device with a USB cable.

For a more detailed instructions on how to proceed, you can refer to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/photos/import-photos-and-videos-from-phone-to-pc

To transfer phone videos to a Surface Studio, use one of these supported methods:

    1. USB cable with the Photos app
      • Connect the phone to the Surface Studio with a USB cable that supports file transfer.
      • Turn on and unlock the phone.
      • On the Surface Studio, open Start > Photos.
      • Select Import > connected device.
      • Follow the prompts and choose the videos to import.
    2. If using Android and videos do not appear
      • On the phone, change the USB connection mode to transfer media or photos.
      • If recent photos appear but videos do not, that can happen with Phone Link, because it only shows recent photos and doesn’t import videos.
      • For direct file access, open File Explorer > This PC and look for the phone there rather than the phone entry tied to Phone Link.
    3. If using iPhone and videos do not appear
      • When prompted on the iPhone, select Trust or Allow.
      • If iCloud is enabled, some photos or videos may exist in iCloud and not on the device, so they may not be available for direct import. In that case, use iCloud for Windows.
    4. If the phone still is not detected or files are missing
      • Try a different USB cable. Not all USB cables can transfer files.
      • Try another USB port.
    5. If the video files import but cannot be opened in Photos
      • The videos may be in HEVC format. Install the needed extensions from Microsoft Store, or reimport/email the files so the phone converts them to a more common format.

If the goal is editing the videos in Clipchamp, another option is to copy the videos to OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox and then add them into the Clipchamp project, or use Clipchamp’s upload from mobile option in Microsoft Edge.
