Hi After a mainboard swap windows is detecting that this used board has a win11 home key associated with it.
My current windows 11 pro installation says it needs activation.
I follow the activation troubleshooter and get to the part where i select that I've changed hardware.

I'm stuck at the phase where it wants me to sign into the computer using your Microsoft account.

Its asking for the password i use to sign into the PC one last time.
This is telling me the password is incorrect.
Ive tried my local account password, resetting this password several times as well as setting it to blank.

I also tried the MS account password, but still its saying password is incorrect.

    Hi!

The password screen appears because Windows is attempting to convert the local account into a Microsoft account. The troubleshooter asks for the local account password if the Microsoft account provided isn't already a linked account.

In any case, even if the process succeeds, it won't work unless you have an online Microsoft license linked to your account (a license purchased directly from Microsoft, not the one that came with the PC).

Since the motherboard has a Home license but you are running Windows Pro, the license won't work; you need a Pro license for it to function. Therefore, it is important to know whether the Pro license from your old motherboard came pre-installed or was purchased from a third party or Microsoft.
