GameInput Redist Service timed out failing to stop error 10029

Currentl have this issie mentioned above. In the services it shows it constantly in the state of stopping regardless of reboot. It prevents games from registering any mouse or controllwr inputs specifically bedrock minecraft. Forcing it to stop isnt an option as its greyed out.

    Thank you for the detailed description. Since GameInput Redist Service appears to be stuck in the "Stopping" state even after a restart and game input devices are no longer being detected.

    Could you please confirm:

    • Does the issue affect only Minecraft Bedrock, or are other games unable to detect mouse/controller input as well?
    • Did this start after a recent Windows update, game update, or controller software installation?
    • In Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System, are there any errors related to GameInput, Service Control Manager, or gaming services around the time the problem occurs?

    In the meantime, please try these checks:

    1. Check the GameInput Service startup type
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Locate GameInput Service.
    • Double-click it and let me know what is shown for “Startup type”.
    1. Run a system file repair
    • Open Windows Terminal (Admin) and run:
      • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
      • sfc /scannow
    • Restart the PC after both commands complete.
    1. Check for multiple GameInput installations

    Open Settings > Installed apps and look for entries named Microsoft GameInput or GameInput Redistributable
