Good evening,

Just checking if anyone could help. We seem to be getting issues with distributing class notebooks to students on teams. I have tried the online and offline version and still no joy. The notebook does not start distributing and just lags.

We use this every day in lessons and I was hoping someone could help me so I can get IT to rectify this asap

Thank you for any tips/support

    Hi Mr C Walton,

To better understand what may be causing the issue, could you please provide a few additional details?

    • Is the problem affecting all Class Notebooks or only a specific notebook?
    • Approximately how many students are in the class where distribution is failing?
    • Are other teachers experiencing the same issue, or is it limited to your account?
    • When you start the page distribution, do you receive any error message, or does it remain in a loading/distributing state indefinitely?
    • Have there been any recent changes to your Microsoft 365 licenses, Teams setup, or OneNote configuration?

In the meantime, please try the following:

    • Check if the issue occurs in a different browser, such as Edge InPrivate mode.
    • Try distributing a simple test page to a single student. If that works, the original content may be too large and may need to be split into smaller sections.
    • In Teams, go to Class Notebook > Manage notebooks > Manage students and confirm all students are listed correctly. If students were recently added to the class team, they may not have been added to the notebook yet.
    • If using the desktop app, ensure the notebook is fully synced and shows no sync errors before distributing pages. Select File > Options > Sync and make sure Sync notebooks automatically is selected.

To ensure I provide the most accurate assistance, I would appreciate any additional information you can share regarding your current situation. If possible, please include screenshots, as they can be very helpful in the investigation.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to comment on this post.
