Hi - I want to stop synching my files to one drive. But I don't see that feature when I log into settings.

Are you on macOS, if so, is this the instructions you already tried? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/fix-onedrive-sync-problems-on-mac

Specifically item 1 listed is relevant. You shouldn't need to be an admin to do this.

Is it because I'm not an administrator that I can't unlink my mac from One Drive?

To stop OneDrive from syncing files, use the OneDrive app settings from the taskbar icon, not Windows Settings.

    1. Select the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar notification area.
      • If it is not visible, select Show hidden icons.
      • If OneDrive is not running, open Start, type OneDrive, and open the app.
    2. Select Help and Settings or the gear icon, then select Settings.
    3. To stop syncing everything from this PC:
      • Go to the Account tab.
      • Select Unlink this PC.
    4. To stop syncing only certain folders:
      • In the Account tab, select Choose folders.
      • Uncheck the folders that should no longer sync to the computer, then select OK.

    Important details:

    • Unlinking the PC does not delete files or data from OneDrive. Files remain available by signing in to OneDrive on the web.
    • If a folder is unchecked in Choose folders, it is removed from the computer, but the folder and its contents remain available online.
    • Some folders cannot be unchecked, including Documents, Desktop, Pictures, and Personal Vault.
    • If only a temporary stop is needed, right-click the OneDrive icon and select Pause syncing for 2, 8, or 24 hours.
