To connect a printer to a router and print from Windows, use the network or wireless setup path:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the network.
- For a wireless printer, make sure the printer is on the same wireless network as the Windows device.
- In Windows, open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add device or Add a printer or scanner.
- Wait for Windows to search for printers, then select the printer and choose Add device.
If Windows does not find the printer:
- Confirm the printer’s wireless option is turned on.
- Run the printer’s wireless connectivity test from the printer’s menu, if available.
- Make sure the PC and printer are connected to the same network, especially if there are multiple routers, access points, extenders, or separate SSIDs.
- Power cycle the printer: turn it off, unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on again.
- Remove and reinstall the printer from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
If the printer is connected by USB instead of Wi-Fi, connect the USB cable securely to both the printer and the PC. If needed, try a different USB port.
