Using older versions of Outlook for Mac for personal email and calendar
Yep - you can use a third-party PST-to-MBOX conversion tool. Most third-party converter tools operate independently and do not require Microsoft Outlook or an active email profile to be installed on the computer. There is actually one available from Microsoft Store - https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n855fm863x0?hl=en-US&gl=MK - others include https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxKK9ujA5uw&t=66s and https://www.quest.com/community/recovery-manager/f/forum/36001/how-to-import-move-transfer-pst-files-into-mbox-file-format
Conversion tools generally preserve the core mailbox data, including sender and recipient information, dates, subject lines, email content, and attachments. Original folder hierarchies and structures are generally maintained as well.
For large or oversized PST archives, use specialized conversion software that explicitly supports large PST files or has no file-size limitations. Examples include BitRecover, vMail, and DRS Softech. It can also be useful to select software that supports batch or selective processing, allowing you to preview the PST and export only specific folders rather than converting the entire archive at once.
Make sure the destination drive has sufficient free space for the generated MBOX files. The resulting MBOX data can be comparable in size to the original PST, and additional temporary working space may also be required during conversion.
