My email address has been denied permission to use my microsoft 365 account. I cannot access my one drive or excel. How do I get permission reinstated to access these accounts?

Sorry to hear about this. Could you please provide a little more information so we can determine what type of permission issue this is? Is this a personal Microsoft account (such as Outlook.com/Hotmail) with a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription, or is it a work or school account provided by an organization?

Also, what is the exact error message or error code you receive when trying to access OneDrive or Excel? If possible, please test by signing in directly at https://www.microsoft365.com and https://onedrive.live.com and let me know what happens there.

A few other details would also help:

Did this account work normally before, and if so, when did the problem start?

Was the Microsoft 365 subscription recently renewed, cancelled, expired, or moved to another account?

If this is Microsoft 365 Family, is the affected account the subscription owner or a member who was invited by someone else?

Can you still sign in normally to account.microsoft.com?

Does the problem occur in both the browser and the Office applications, or only in the installed apps?

Please do not post your email address, password, recovery codes, or other private information.

    Hello Renee,

If Microsoft 365 is showing that your account or email address has been denied permission, the first step is to determine whether this is a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account.

If it is a work or school Microsoft 365 account, access to OneDrive and Excel can be controlled by your organization's Microsoft 365 administrator. In that case, you will need to contact your organization's IT administrator and ask them to check whether your account is blocked, disabled, unlicensed, or affected by a Conditional Access policy.

If it is a personal Microsoft account, try signing in directly at Microsoft 365 on the web and check whether you receive a specific error message. Also verify that you are signing in with the same account that owns the Microsoft 365 subscription.

If possible, please provide the exact error message or error code you're seeing (without posting your password or other personal information). That will help determine whether this is an account, licensing, or permissions issue.
