Thing are STILL not working. Messages I send through PL seem to go OK, but I never receive replies on my PC. I get replies on my PHONE via Google Messages, but they don't show up on my PC ANYWHERE. The last update has gummed up the works.
Phone link weirdness (new, not the usual stuff)
When I receive messages, the initial message shows up in the Notifications column, middle pane, and right pane. My response shows up in the right pane and NOT in the notifications pane. The reply showed up in the notification pane and not the right pane. Is this normal? Shouldn't the entire conversation be shown in the right pane? This seems to be NOT the way it used to work.
Is there a 'fix?' Is this the way it works now?

- Allow this app to show text messages from my phone
- Allow this app to send MMS attachments from my phone
- Allow this app to receive MMS attachments from my phone
- Automatically download MMS attachments from my phone
ALL MESSAGES OPTIONS ARE TURNED ON
- In Phone Link > Settings > Features > Messages, turn off Show messages to group chats in individual conversations.
- This is the documented setting for cases where group messages appear in the wrong conversation.
DID NOT FIND SUCH AN OPTION
- If the phone is Android, check the Link to Windows app permissions on the phone:
- Settings > App Info > See all apps > Link to Windows > Permissions
- Allow Storage, Contacts, SMS, and Phone
- Settings > App Info > See all apps > Link to Windows > Permissions
NO PERMISSIONS DENIED
- If the issue started recently and reconnecting has not helped, fully unlink and pair again:
- On Android: Link to Windows > Linked Account > Account Settings > Sign out and unlink account
- On PC: Phone Link > Settings > Devices > Add new device
- Then pair again
- On PC: Phone Link > Settings > Devices > Add new device
- On Android: Link to Windows > Linked Account > Account Settings > Sign out and unlink account
DONE
- If the thread is a long-running multi-person conversation, temporarily turning off RCS / Chat features or using MMS for group messages can prevent thread splitting.
