Microsoft project management software used to plan, manage, and communicate a project schedule and other information among workgroup members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Hi Tamara,
In Planner Premium (formerly Project for the web), a single project calendar is applied at the project level to define working hours, working days, holidays, and other non-working periods used for task scheduling. Because the calendar is associated with the project itself, you cannot assign different holiday schedules to individual tasks within the same project.
If different team members follow different holiday schedules, a common approach is to configure resource calendars through the underlying Project/Power Platform environment instead of applying separate holiday schedules to specific tasks. This allows scheduling to account for resource-specific availability, including exceptions such as public holidays, company shutdowns, or other non-working periods.
Please try the following:
- Go to https://make.powerapps.com and select the Power Platform environment containing your plan.
- Open the Project app and select Resources.
- Open the relevant resource calendar and add the holiday dates as Time Off or non-working time.
- Save the calendar as a work-hours template.
- Return to your Planner Premium plan and open the plan details.
- Under Calendar settings, select the new calendar template and click Apply.
Once the calendar has been applied, Planner should exclude those dates when scheduling tasks. Please also ensure that the tasks have durations and dependencies configured, as manually fixed start or finish dates may prevent the schedule from moving automatically.
If you cannot see the Project app, Resources, or Calendar settings, your Power Platform administrator may need to create the calendar or provide the required permissions.
