Hi Manju,
Microsoft’s billing system for India requires your GSTIN to be linked to your account before the invoice is generated. If the GSTIN isn’t added, the invoice will show blank and you won’t get a GST-compliant invoice. This isn’t something you can fix after the purchase it needs to be set up in advance.
Here’s what you need to do:
Get Your GSTIN (if not already registered)
Visit the official GST portal: https://www.gst.gov.in
Apply online using FORM GST REG-01.
You’ll need PAN, Aadhaar, business address proof, and bank details.
Once approved, you’ll receive your GSTIN certificate.
Add GSTIN to Your Microsoft Account
Sign in to Microsoft Account Services.
Go to Billing > Tax Information.
Enter your GSTIN and registered business address exactly as per GST records.
Save changes before making any new purchase.
Make the Purchase
When you buy from Microsoft Store or renew subscriptions, the system will now generate a GST-compliant invoice with your GSTIN.
Download GST Invoice
After payment, go to Order History in your Microsoft account.
Download the invoice it should display your GSTIN and tax breakup.
GSTIN cannot be added after the invoice is generated.
If you face issues, contact Microsoft Support and request assistance for GST compliance.
