I am locked out of my word document. I get a message saying I need to activate. When I try to activate I get a message that an error accrued

Kindly check the status of your MS Office Word license from https://account.microsoft.com/services . On your MS Word app, please make sure that you're signed in to the account where your license is associated before trying to activate it.

    What version of macOS are you running? Monterey is now the oldest version on which you can run Office. If your system can only run an older operating system, you can still use Word for the web, or Google Docs. For desktop programs, you can install open-source LibreOffice, which has good compatibility with Office file formats.
