For "No input devices found" on Windows 11, use this path:
- Check microphone privacy permissions.
- Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
- Turn on Microphone access.
- Turn on Let apps access your microphone.
- Turn on Let desktop apps access your microphone.
- Then return to Settings > System > Sound > Input and check whether a microphone appears.
- Check whether the microphone is available in Sound settings.
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
- In Input, look for a microphone.
- If one appears, select it, open its properties with >, then use Start test under Microphone test and speak normally.
- Select Stop test and Play to confirm it records.
- Make sure the correct recording device is selected.
- In Start > Settings > System > Sound.
- Under Input, in Choose a device for speaking or recording, select the microphone if it is listed.
- Run the built-in sound troubleshooter.
- Go to Settings > System > Sound.
- Scroll to Advanced.
- Select Input devices under Troubleshoot common sound problems.
- If needed, select All sound devices under Advanced for more options.
- Restart audio services.
- In the taskbar search box, type services and open it.
- Restart these services:
- Windows Audio
- Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
- Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
- Then check Settings > System > Sound > Input again.
- Reinstall the audio drivers.
- Go to Device Manager by right-clicking Start.
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click each audio device and select Uninstall device.
- Check Attempt to remove the driver for this device and select Uninstall.
- Repeat for other audio devices in that section.
- Restart the PC.
- If Windows does not reinstall them automatically, open Device Manager, right-click Sound, video and game controllers, and select Scan for hardware changes.
- Then right-click the audio driver and select Update driver.
- If the microphone appears but still does not work, increase input volume.
- Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
- Select the microphone under Input.
- Under Input settings, adjust the Input volume slider.
Since the built-in microphone is not showing at all, the most relevant steps are privacy settings, audio services, and especially reinstalling the audio driver.
