Netflix freezes on my pc while the audio continues. My system is up to date. Can you help me resolve this? This appears to be a problem on both the Netflix app and viewing Netflix programming through the Chrome browser.

    Hi,

Try running a test to see if a graphics driver issue is the cause: go to Google Chrome > ... > Settings > System and uncheck all three options.

Close Chrome completely and reopen it, then test to see if the same problem occurs with Netflix in the browser.

    Thanks.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Restart the Windows audio services.
      • Select Start, type services.msc, and press Enter.
      • Right-click Windows Audio and select Restart.
      • Right-click Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and select Restart.
      • Test Netflix again in both the app and Chrome.
    2. Update the audio driver.
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the audio device and select Update driver.
      • Restart the PC.
    3. If the issue started after a Windows update, roll back the audio driver.
      • In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the audio device and select Properties.
      • Open the Driver tab.
      • Select Roll Back Driver.
      • Restart the device.
    4. If audio or video stutters only when using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter:
      • Move the PC closer to the adapter.
      • Keep it away from microwave ovens, cordless phones, or baby monitors.
      • If using a Microsoft 4K Wireless Display Adapter, try changing how the adapter is connected.
      • If HDCP was turned on in the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app, try turning it off.
    5. If Netflix playback issues happen only while connected to a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter:
      • Make sure the adapter is up to date.
      • Close and reopen Netflix.
      • Disconnect from the adapter.
      • Restart the PC.
      • Reconnect to the adapter and test again.
      • If using a Microsoft 4K Wireless Display Adapter, make sure Enable HDCP is turned on in the app.

Because the problem happens in both the Netflix app and Chrome, the most relevant Windows-side fixes are restarting the audio services and updating or rolling back the audio driver.
