In word, I used to get a big box that asked: Save your changes to this file? then Choose your Location and at the bottom more options. Now I just get the "Want to save your changes to Document" I would like it back the way it was. Is there any way to get that?

You can display the classic Save As dialog box by pressing F12 (or Fn+F12 on some keyboards).

The “Want to save your changes?” box is only a close-confirmation prompt; to display the location chooser, save the document before closing it by pressing Ctrl+S, then select More save options.

    Restore the fuller Save experience

    1. Open Word.
    2. Select File → Options → Save.
    3. Ensure Don’t show the Backstage when opening or saving files is cleared.
    4. Select OK.
    5. For a new document, press Ctrl+S.
    6. In the Save box:
      • Choose a recent folder from Location, or
      • Select More save options for the full Save As interface.

That Word option controls whether the Backstage file-management screen appears when opening or saving files.^1^ Microsoft’s current Microsoft 365 save workflow uses Location and More save options to reach other folders.^2^

If you want the classic Windows Save As window instead

    1. Go to File → Options → Save.
    2. Select Don’t show the Backstage when opening or saving files.
    3. Select OK.
    4. Press Ctrl+S or Ctrl+Shift+S.

This bypasses Backstage for keyboard-based saves and opens the traditional File Explorer-style dialog. If Word still displays Backstage when saving through the File menu, select Browse to open that classic dialog.^3^

The close-confirmation box itself does not provide a documented setting for restoring an earlier, larger layout. Save first with Ctrl+S, F12, or File → Save As/Save a Copy when you need to choose the file name or location; Browse lets you select any folder on the computer.^2^
