Microsoft Q&A contributors cannot modify or directly escalate Bing Places records, so add the Google-removal evidence to your existing Bing Places support case and request manual suppression of the obsolete record while explicitly retaining the active record as authoritative.^1^
Update the existing support case
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that manages the active listing.
- Open the Bing Places support contact page.
- Select the applicable region and language, then use Chat now or the available contact option.
- Reference the current case rather than opening another unrelated case. Also mention the previous case so support can review its history.
- Ask that the case be routed to the team responsible for duplicate-record suppression or conflation—the process Bing uses to reconcile records from multiple sources.
Send a concise update such as:
The external-source issue identified in the earlier investigation has now been resolved. Google removed the obsolete listing on October 15, 2026, and it no longer appears in Google Maps.
Please manually review the two Bing records and:
- Suppress or merge the obsolete record currently marked “Permanently closed.”
- Retain the correct active record as the authoritative listing.
- Confirm that business-name searches resolve to the active record.
- Confirm that the active record contains the current website and accurate business details.
- Remove outdated photos and content associated only with the obsolete record.
- Preserve the service-area configuration and ensure the residential address is not publicly displayed.
The case already contains the relevant listing IDs. Evidence of the Google removal, current business operation, and correct listing details can be supplied privately.
Attach or offer:
- A screenshot of the current incorrect Bing result.
- A screenshot or link showing the Google removal confirmation.
- Proof that the business is operating.
- The correct website, telephone number, service area, hours, and preferred photos.
- The obsolete and active Bing record IDs.
- The earlier support correspondence.
Duplicate-listing cases commonly require Bing Places Support to remove or merge the duplicate while retaining the published listing; that operation is not available to Q&A contributors.^2^ Microsoft’s consumer support guidance likewise directs business-information corrections through Bing Places.^3^
If the existing case receives only another automated response
Reply within the same case and request:
- Manual review, rather than another automated removal-cycle response.
- Confirmation of which listing ID will be retained.
- Confirmation that suppression applies only to the obsolete record.
- Verification of the active record’s website and service-area presentation.
- A written status update or escalation reference.
Do not try to claim, verify, or substantially edit the obsolete record unless Bing Places Support instructs you to do so; the requested outcome is suppression or merging, not making the duplicate another managed listing.
Parallel fallback
On the public Bing Maps result:
- Open the obsolete listing.
- Select Suggest an edit or Feedback, if shown.
- Report it as an incorrect duplicate of the active listing.
- Include the active listing’s identifying information in the report.
Microsoft documents the Bing Maps Feedback control for reporting factual errors, although feedback is reviewed without any guarantee of a personal response.^4^ This should supplement—not replace—the existing support case.
Because the Google listing was removed only on October 15, keep the support case open until Bing confirms which record is authoritative and the public search result has changed. Bing Places data can differ from the public local result while changes pass through its publishing and source-matching process.^5^
