Hi, Microsoft released a fix for the recent update-related File History issue on October 13, 2026, in KB5126657. This is the first update to check for your symptoms.

Go to Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> Check for updates, install the available update, then restart and try File History again.

Microsoft’s fix details: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/servicing/os/windows-10/2026/10/kb5126657-windows-10-21h2-22h2-security-update
