A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
Hello Lizzy Barlow (UG),
Thank you for explaining the situation. I understand that these notes contain important university work, so I would first like to confirm which account was used to store the notebooks.
Were you using a school account provided by your university, or a personal Microsoft account, such as Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, or a Gmail address registered with Microsoft? If it was a school account, please try signing in at https://www.microsoft365.com using the same university credentials.
If you cannot sign in, or OneDrive and OneNote are empty, please contact the university’s IT administrator immediately. Only the university administrator can check the account, license, OneDrive site, and notebooks within the school’s Microsoft 365 environment.
In the meantime, please check Deleted Notes in OneNote for Mac by following this guide: Recover deleted notes in OneNote for Mac | Microsoft Support
And also check the Recycle Bin in OneDrive to see whether the notebook or any related files are still available: Restore files deleted from your OneDrive | Microsoft Support
Please avoid uninstalling OneNote or deleting any local OneNote data while checking the account, as there may still be unsynchronized information on the Mac.
Please let me know which account type you used, whether you can still sign in to Microsoft 365, and whether anything appears under Deleted Notes or the OneDrive Recycle Bin. This information will help me provide the most appropriate next steps.
Kind regards,
