Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If this is a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription, update the payment method in the Microsoft account that owns the subscription:
- Go to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
- Find the subscription and select Manage.
- Select Change how you pay.
- If the expired card is still listed, choose Add a new way to pay and follow the prompts.
- If the subscription is already past due, select Pay now instead, then update the payment method and complete the payment.
If only the expiration date, billing address, name, or CVV changed for the same card, the payment details can also be updated from Payment options at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments by selecting View or edit card and then Save.
Important limits:
- If recurring billing is off, Change how you pay might not appear.
- Prepaid subscriptions can’t change the payment method for the current subscription. Payment info can be updated only for a future purchase after the prepaid term ends.
- Gift cards, subscription cards, and Microsoft account balance can’t be used to pay a past-due subscription.
If sign-in is blocked because access to the account email is unavailable, use the Microsoft account sign-in troubleshooting flow first, then return to the billing pages above.
