    Hi,

I will walk through a few steps with you. Some of these are just to help figure out what is wrong, not to fix it right away. So if nothing changes after a step, that is normal. I will keep going until we solve it.

    ,:Remove a payment method:

    1. Go to Microsoft Payment Options and sign in.
    2. Find the card or payment method you want to remove.
    3. Select Remove next to the payment method.
    4. Select Remove again to confirm.

If Remove is not available, the payment method may be linked to an active Microsoft subscription or have a pending payment. You may need to change the payment method for that subscription first at https://account.microsoft.com/services/365/manage

To add a payment method to your Microsoft account:

    • Go to Microsoft payment methods and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    • Select Add a payment method.
    • Choose the payment method you want to add, such as credit/debit card or another available option.
    • Enter the required payment details and billing address.
    • Select Save.

The new payment method will then appear under Payment methods and can be used for eligible Microsoft purchases and subscriptions.

If this is a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription, update the payment method in the Microsoft account that owns the subscription:

    1. Go to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
    2. Find the subscription and select Manage.
    3. Select Change how you pay.
    4. If the expired card is still listed, choose Add a new way to pay and follow the prompts.
    5. If the subscription is already past due, select Pay now instead, then update the payment method and complete the payment.

If only the expiration date, billing address, name, or CVV changed for the same card, the payment details can also be updated from Payment options at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments by selecting View or edit card and then Save.

    Important limits:

    • If recurring billing is off, Change how you pay might not appear.
    • Prepaid subscriptions can’t change the payment method for the current subscription. Payment info can be updated only for a future purchase after the prepaid term ends.
    • Gift cards, subscription cards, and Microsoft account balance can’t be used to pay a past-due subscription.

If sign-in is blocked because access to the account email is unavailable, use the Microsoft account sign-in troubleshooting flow first, then return to the billing pages above.
