Using Microsoft Word for Mac, v 16.113.4. I'm inserting a jpeg of a QR code into a document, but once it appears in the document and is selected, all options for wrapping or positioning in Picture Format are greyed out.

    Hi AVLFiona828,

Wrap Text and Position are greyed out when Word can't float the picture from its current position. Check these in order:

    1. View: switch to View > Print Layout. Wrapping isn't available in Draft, Outline, or Web Layout views.
    2. Location: make sure the picture isn't inside a footnote, comment, text box, or content control. Cut it, click in normal body text, and paste it there.
    3. Protection/compatibility: check that Review > Protect (Restrict Editing) is off. If the title bar shows [Compatibility Mode], use File > Save As and save as .docx.
    4. Picture type: if you pasted it from a browser or another app, delete it and use Insert > Pictures > Picture from File instead.
    5. Then select the picture and use Picture Format > Wrap Text (or right-click > Wrap Text) and choose Square or In Front of Text.

It sounds like you've gotten the wrapping sorted out. I just want to mention that better formats for line art like QR codes is a PNG reduced to 2 colors, or a vector format like SVG or EMF. In general, JPG should be reserved for photos. Here are a couple of articles showing why this is: JPEG Logos? Fail! - Best Practices Best Quality Logos for Office - Best Practices
