Technical Issues with Microsoft 365 Copilot rendering images

I have been using Microsoft Copilot 365 to generate documents with a large number of images. Until yesterday, everything was fine. All of a sudden, the chat stopped being able to render images no matter how hard I tried. Today, I have created seven new chats providing context from the prior chats. The new chats are able to render one image then it is unable to render any more images. I thought it might be a limit issue on my subscription so I upgraded to Microsoft 365 Pro. I am still experiencing the problem. Has anyone run into this? Is there a resolution?

    Hi John Lamelas,

I can understand how disruptive this is, especially when your documents rely on a large number of generated images. Since this started suddenly and the same behavior occurs in several new chats, it may not be related to the individual conversation.

Could you confirm a few details?

    • Are you using Copilot on the web, in the desktop app, or inside an app such as Word or PowerPoint?
    • After the first image, does an error message appear, or does the next image simply remain blank or continue loading?
    • Does the same thing happen in a private browser window or a different browser?

As a first check, I suggest signing out completely, closing the app or browser, and then signing back in with the account connected to the upgraded subscription. You can also try generating an image through the dedicated image-creation area rather than continuing in a long document chat. If possible, test in a private browser window with extensions and any VPN temporarily disabled.

If the issue continues after those checks, please use the feedback option in Copilot and include the approximate time it happened, the platform you were using, and a screenshot of the error with any personal information removed. Since the problem persists across new chats, the feedback report may help identify whether it is affecting the account or the image service itself.

Please let me know what happens in the private window and whether you see a specific error after the first image.
