Training: Instruction to develop new skills.
Submit the dedicated Azure for Students support form at https://aka.ms/azureforstudentssupport and request a manual review/reset of the completed verification; this route is intended for cases where no subscription exists and portal-based support is unavailable.^1^
What to include
Provide:
- The Microsoft account used for signup.
- Your university email address.
- The correct full name as held by your university.
- The incorrect name entered during the original signup.
- A statement that:
- academic verification completed;
- no Azure for Students subscription was provisioned;
- the signup name is locked/greyed out;
- the Microsoft account profile has already been corrected;
- you need the verification reviewed and either associated with the corrected account details or reset so you can apply again.
- The exact error message, if one appears.
- Screenshots with session IDs or timestamps, but with unrelated personal information redacted.
A suitable ticket description is:
Academic verification completed using my university email, but no Azure for Students subscription was created. The original application contains an incorrect name, and the signup name field is locked. I have already corrected the name in my Microsoft account profile. Please review the application and either update the signup identity information or reset/unlink the academic verification so I can complete activation.
Do not post account addresses, student documents, or screenshots containing personal information publicly on Q&A. Supply them only through the private support case if requested.
If the dedicated form still redirects or fails
Use the public Azure support request entry point:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2083458
Select an account, billing, or subscription-management issue and explain that no subscription was provisioned. Microsoft documents support requests as the escalation route for subscription-management issues, although ordinary portal tickets tied to a subscription require an appropriate Azure role.^2^
The closely matching incorrect-name case also directs users whose corrected profile does not resolve signup to Azure Support to have the student email unlinked from the failed verification attempt.^3^
If support says the application is ineligible rather than blocked
Ask the university IT or Microsoft 365 administrator to confirm that:
- the university email account is valid;
- the institution/domain is registered and recognized for Azure academic verification; and
- you are currently enrolled at an eligible institution.
Azure for Students requires academic-status verification through the institution’s email address and is limited to one subscription per eligible customer.^4^
A Q&A moderator cannot inspect or modify the signup record, unlink the university email, or provision the subscription; those actions require the Azure for Students support team.
