Trying to sign up a school for an education 365 account, but fails

I'm not sure how to open a support case for this.

I am starting at this page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office

I put in an email address and then select "If you're an IT admin, sign up your school."

The next page says: "Sorry, something is wrong...

We're sorry, but this product isn’t available."

It's been doing this for over 24 hours. So I'm not sure what to do now.

Hi Ben Nolen ,

Could you please confirm whether you are the IT administrator for the school and whether you're using an email address associated with the school's domain?If you're not the IT administrator, I recommend contacting your school's IT administrator, who can assist with the registration.

If you are the IT administrator, could you try the registration process in an InPrivate/Incognito browser window or a different browser to see whether the same error occurs?

If the issue persists, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin

I am the IT administrator. I've tried it in two different browsers, plus Incognito mode. I've tried it using different email domains as well. All of them end in the page saying it's unavailable.

The education support page won't let me open a case without a school account. So it seems like I'm in a loop.

"You're signed in to a personal account. Please sign in to a school account to open a service request yourself. You can also search for answers in our community forums."

I can't create an account, but I can't create a support case without an account.

For some reason, your e-mail address appears to be identified (by Microsoft) as an individual e-mail rather than an organization one. I take it you are using an organization e-mail when you try to order the school's subscription?

Yes. It is an organization (school) email address. But our school does not yet have a 365 tenant account with Microsoft, so there is no way to have it IDed as a school to Microsoft. It's just a regular old domain in their eyes.

You should be able to place an order using any e-mail address.

Did you see a form such as the one at the below link?

Hm, maybe certain domains are required for this to work.

Are you able to contact Microsoft sales directly? There is an overview at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/sales-support.

I tried it with a made up domain as well with the same result. I was thinking something must be down on Microsoft's end. Would you be able to confirm in any way?

It is possible that there is a temporary glitch with the site, but I don't really know. Sorry.
