Open Get Help in Windows 11, start a new chat or callback, and give the support agent your existing case number so they can review the history and resume assistance.
- Select Start, type Get Help, and open the app.
- Sign in with the Microsoft personal account used for the original request.
- Enter Reconnect to an interrupted Windows support case, then select Contact Support.
- Choose Windows and the closest technical-support category, then select Confirm.
- Choose either:
- Chat with a support agent in your web browser, or
- Provide your phone number and a support agent will call you.
- Give the case number to the agent inside the private chat or call and explain that the connection was lost when the computer restarted. Microsoft documents these contact options in Get Help; their availability depends on operating hours, product, scenario, and subscription.^1^
A new agent might handle the connection, but providing the existing case number allows that agent to review the prior case and continue from its history.^2^
If Contact Support does not appear:
- Use Microsoft’s support page and select the appropriate Get help option; it may offer chat after collecting the issue details.^3^
- Alternatively, reply to the original case-confirmation email. That response can be added to the existing ticket for the assigned support team.^4^
Microsoft Q&A contributors cannot access or reconnect support sessions. For privacy, do not post the case number, email address, phone number, or remote-session details publicly.
