Sign in to your Microsoft account’s Services & subscriptions page, select Manage for Microsoft 365, and choose Turn off recurring billing to prevent future automatic charges.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")

    Turn off recurring billing

    1. Go to Services & subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account used to purchase the subscription.
    2. Find your Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
    3. Select Turn off recurring billing.
    4. Review the information, scroll down, and select either I don’t want my subscription or I want to keep my benefits, as displayed.
    5. Return to the subscription details and verify that:
      • Turn on recurring billing is displayed, meaning recurring billing is now off; or
      • An Expires on date appears without an option to turn recurring billing off.

Your subscription and its benefits remain available until the displayed expiration date, but it will not renew automatically.[^1^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")

    If the option is missing

    • Confirm that you signed in with the same personal Microsoft account used to buy Microsoft 365.
    • If the subscription was purchased through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Best Buy, or another retailer, billing must be managed directly through that provider rather than Microsoft.[^2^](https://support.microsoft.com/accounts-billing/subscriptions/[Subscription ID] "Unable to cancel your Microsoft subscription | Microsoft Support")
    • If an overdue balance exists, it must be paid before cancellation can be completed.
    • For a work or school subscription, contact your organization’s IT administrator.
