Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
If the password is correct but sign-in still fails, use the Microsoft account recovery flow:
- Select Recover your account.
- Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name used for the Microsoft account.
- Make sure the email domain is correct, such as .com vs .co.uk.
- If the email is not recognized, try another email alias or phone number that is on the account.
- Choose where to receive the security code, select Next, enter the requested information, and select Send code.
- Enter the code in Verify your identity.
- Set a new password.
If the message says "We couldn't find an account with that username" or "account doesn't exist", use the Sign-in Helper tool.
If the account has not been used for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
If the account still cannot be recovered, contact Microsoft Support and explain that the username or password stopped working.
For the Microsoft 365 Personal yearly plan, billing and subscription help is managed from the Microsoft account area after sign-in. If sign-in is blocked, the recovery and support steps above are the supported path.
