Hello.

I just wanted to emphasize that even now, in October 2026, there is still no option to make the Windows Media Player stay on repeat-song by default when the program is opened. This question has already been asked in the past in the year 2023, and the issue still has not been solved.

You keep adding new updates that make my computer go wild every now and then, but you are unable to make this one simple change for the comfort of your users. You are a giant corporation worth billions of US dollars, but you cannot solve this.

Please, notify your developer department to solve this. I am sure that the solution would be easy, but someone would have to look at this. Thank you in advance.

Your dissatisfied customer (and I am sure there are many of us).

    Hi,

Please keep in mind that this is a community forum where Windows users help one another. Microsoft does not directly monitor feedback posted here. If you want to share your feedback with Microsoft, you can press Windows + F to open the Feedback Hub app and submit your report there.

In the meantime, you can use Windows Media Player Legacy, as I believe its repeat option should still work. If it is not installed, you can install it through these steps:

    • Go to Settings > System > Optional features
    • Click on View Features then See available features
    • Scroll down or search for Windows Media Player Legacy
    • Put a checkmark then click Add
    • The installation may take some time and might appear to be stuck. Please wait for it to finish without interrupting the process, as doing so could cause the installation to become corrupted.
