    Hi,

What happens when you open Excel documents? Please run excel.exe /safe from the Run (Win + R) dialog. Does Excel open? If so, try to open files from the File menu in Excel. If you get any errors, please post a screenshot.

If Excel doesn't launch, perform an online repair of Office to resolve the issue.

    • Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Apps & features, depending on Windows version).
    • Select the Microsoft 365 or Office product you want to repair and select Modify.
    • Select it and choose Modify.
    • When prompted, choose Online Repair (not Quick Repair), then start the repair.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Repair Office first.
      • Select Start and open Control Panel.
      • Go to Programs > Programs and Features.
      • Select the Office product, then choose Change.
      • Run Quick Repair.
    2. If Excel still opens a blank window or files still do not open, run Online Repair.
      • On Windows 10 or Windows 11: Start > Settings > Apps.
      • Select the Office app installation.
      • Choose Modify.
      • Select Online Repair, then Repair.
    3. If the problem started after reinstalling and double-clicking Excel files does not open them in Excel, fix the file association.
      • Open Control Panel.
      • Go to Programs > Default Programs.
      • Under Set a default for a file type or link type, find the Excel file type and set Excel as the default app.
      • Repeat for other Office file types if needed.
    4. If multiple Office versions are installed, uninstall the versions not needed.
      • Open Control Panel.
      • Choose Uninstall a program.
      • Remove the extra Office version.
      • Restart the computer.
      • Multiple Office versions can cause files to open in the wrong app or fail to open correctly.
    5. As a workaround, open Excel first, then open the workbook from inside Excel.
      • Start Excel.
      • Select File > Open.
      • Browse to the workbook and open it.
    6. If Office was preinstalled from Microsoft Store and had to be reinstalled, reinstall it from the Microsoft Store app.
      • Open Microsoft Store.
      • Go to Library > Apps.
      • Find the Office product and select the Cloud button to reinstall.

For the Spanish/English language issue after reinstalling Office, the available guidance in the provided material only covers a specific known issue for some pre-installed Office 2016 Microsoft Store installations and a separate case for replacing English with Chinese or Serbian. It does not provide supported steps for changing Office from Spanish to another language in this scenario.
