I have been trying to log in to my Outlook/Hotmail account on my MacBook Pro, but I am experiencing an issue. When I open Outlook, it tells me that I am offline, even though my internet connection is working.

When I click on “Go Online”, a window opens saying "To complete this action, start your free one month trial of Microsoft 365 or sign in to activate an existing subscription". I then click on activate and it redirects me to another page. Although the page loads, I receive an error message saying, “Something went wrong. Try again.” It also will not allow me to click on any account option, so I am unable to proceed or access my email.

I have tried to get into my account, but I am unsure how to resolve this issue. I am able to log in from my browser and I do not have this issue on any of my other devices.

I would appreciate some assitance in resolving this issue.

    Hi!

Do you have a Microsoft 365 subscription or a perpetual Office license?

Outlook Legacy is currently unlicensed and has switched to read-only/offline mode. Also, support for Legacy ends this month. If you are using the Outlook for Mac app (New Outlook) in Legacy Mode, try turning it off to revert to the original interface.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling it:

    1. Right-click the Outlook app icon > Move to Trash > Wait for uninstallation to complete > Restart macOS.
    2. Install Outlook from the Apple Store.
