Cannot Reset Password on Outlook Account

Hello,

I've been trying for like 2 weeks to reset a password to one of my Outlook accounts.

I have 2FA active, I go ahead and input my recovery email address where I get the code.

Next I am prompted again to use another method to which I choose the SMS one and input the last 4 digits of the phone number.

Here comes the problem, I get a "combat robots" screen where I have to hold a button which I've pressed and held for over 10 tries with nothing happening.

Now If I got to any other browser to try again I get an error to try another verification method. This went away after 1-2 days the last time I tried but then got the robot thing again which is just an endless loop.

I have no clue what to do anymore.

    Hello, I’m Virginia.

Some users have had success with incognito/private browsing mode &/or using a non-Chrome-related browser like Firefox to receive the code via text.

If not then your only option may be to try & remove all 2-factor authentication methods which will require knowing the account username & password, so if you have forgotten the password then check all browsers to see if their inbuilt password manager has saved the details.
