Syncing info from clipboard across devices?

I've been trying to figure out how to copy and paste something on my windows 11 home edition laptop and retrieve it on my Android Tablet. This is proving to be one of the most complex and difficult tasks in the entire universe. I've read the help article on syncing clipboard across devices, but this hasnt helped. My laptop is always signed into my Microsoft account and my tablet uses Google mostly, which has a different email address, but I do have the Bing app installed and logged in. I've allowed access to the mobile device in the 'bluetooth & devices > mobile devices' section on my laptop. I've installed the 'Link to windows' app on the tablet device, also. The problem is that it still does not send the copy and pasted info to the mobile device. Is it because the email address is different. I wondered this because I've read that it has to be a Microsoft account. I'm not sure if I understand all of this entirely, maybe only in part.

Yes. For Windows clipboard sync across devices, the sync feature is tied to the same Microsoft account or work account on all devices. If the Android tablet is mainly using a Google account, and only Bing is signed in, that does not meet the clipboard sync requirement.

For a Windows 11 PC, check this first:

    1. Open Start > Settings > System > Clipboard.
    2. Turn Clipboard history across your devices to On.
    3. Select Automatically sync text that I copy.
    4. Make sure the PC is signed in with the same Microsoft account that will be used for the cross-device feature.

For Android, there are two different Microsoft clipboard-related paths in the available guidance:

    • Phone Link / Link to Windows cross-device copy and paste: supported on Surface Duo and supported Android devices such as devices running One UI 2.1 or above and select HONOR, OPPO, ASUS, vivo, and Xiaomi devices.
    • Microsoft SwiftKey Cloud Clipboard: works on Android only, requires the same Microsoft account, and does not support Microsoft SwiftKey for iOS.

For Phone Link, on the PC:

    1. Open Phone Link.
    2. Go to Settings > Features > Cross-device copy and paste.
    3. Turn on Allow this app to access and transfer content I copy and paste between my phone and PC.

If it is already on and still not working:

    1. Close Phone Link on the PC.
    2. Close Link to Windows on the Android tablet.
    3. Reopen both apps.
    4. Confirm recent messages, photos, and notifications appear in Phone Link. That indicates the connection is working normally.
    5. Try copy and paste again.
    6. If needed, restart the PC.

    Important limits and behavior:

    • Cross-device copy and paste currently supports text and images between Android and PC.
    • Images above 1 MB are resized.
    • If a large block of text does not paste, try a smaller section.
    • Each new copied item replaces the clipboard content on both devices.

If the tablet is not one of the supported Phone Link devices, the supported alternative in the available guidance is Microsoft SwiftKey Cloud Clipboard on Android. That also requires signing in to the same Microsoft account on both sides, and it only retains the last copied clip for one hour.
