In an RDS deployment, this error usually means the RDP file doesn't tell the Connection Broker which session collection you want. The broker reads a hint from the RDP file called loadbalanceinfo. If it's missing or the collection name in it doesn't match, the broker can't validate the request and drops it. This often happens with a hand-made .rdp file or when you just type the broker's name into Remote Desktop Connection.
The easiest fix is to let RD Web give you a correct file:
- Open your RD Web Access page in a browser and sign in.
- Download the desktop or app you need from there and open it, instead of your old .rdp file. That file already has the right collection info.
- If you have to keep a custom .rdp file, open it in Notepad and check for a line like
loadbalanceinfo:s:tsv://MS Terminal Services Plugin.1.<CollectionName>, with your exact collection name at the end.
Are you trying to reach a session collection, or just connect to one specific server that happens to have the Connection Broker role?
If this resolved your issue, please consider accepting it as the answer. If the RD Web file gives the same error, let me know and I'll be happy to keep helping.
