Locked Out of Azure Portal Due to Lost MFA – Unable to Create Support Ticket
Hello Microsoft Support Team,
I need assistance recovering access to my Microsoft Azure Portal account.
I registered for Microsoft Azure using my personal Microsoft account: ******@outlook.com.
Unfortunately, I accidentally removed the Azure authentication profile from my Microsoft Authenticator application. As a result, I can no longer approve authentication requests or generate verification codes.
I still have full access to my Microsoft account:
- I know my account password and can successfully sign in.
- I have full access to my Outlook email.
- I have access to my registered phone number and can receive SMS verification codes.
- I have access to my recovery email address.
- I have a working passkey configured in my Microsoft account.
- I can access my Azure DevOps organizations through an existing authenticated browser session.
However, when I try to sign in to Azure Portal, Microsoft requires verification through the old Microsoft Authenticator registration.
The only available authentication methods are:
- Approve a request in Microsoft Authenticator.
- Enter a verification code from Microsoft Authenticator.
Both methods are unavailable because the original authentication profile was deleted.
The main problem
I have already contacted Microsoft Support through live chat.
Unfortunately, the support agent redirected me to the Azure Support Portal:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/
However, I cannot create a support ticket because Azure Portal requires the same MFA verification that I am trying to recover.
This creates a situation where I cannot access my Azure account or contact Azure Support through the standard support portal.
I have also attempted to access Microsoft Entra ID security settings, but I cannot manage the MFA registration because I am unable to complete the required authentication.
Azure Tenant Information
Tenant ID: 30aa3756-d577-486d-ab00-2f05beed97f9
I created and manage my Azure environment using my personal Microsoft account. I do not have access to another administrator account that could reset my MFA.
My request
I would appreciate assistance with the following:
- Verifying my identity through my registered email address, phone number, or another secure verification method.
- Resetting my existing Microsoft Entra ID MFA registration.
- Allowing me to register a new Microsoft Authenticator profile.
- Restoring secure access to Azure Portal.
Could a Microsoft moderator please help initiate a support case without requiring Azure Portal authentication and escalate my request to the Microsoft Data Protection / Tenant Recovery team?
I am ready to provide any additional information required to verify my identity and account ownership through a private and secure communication channel.
Thank you for your assistance.
