Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi @Gay Adam
I’m sorry you’re experiencing this persistent error while setting up Classic Outlook on your new laptop.
The error Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Directory.ADDriverStoreAccessNonLocalException may be related to the Outlook profile created during the unsuccessful account setup. Please close Outlook, then open Control Panel > Mail (Microsoft Outlook) > Show Profiles. Create a new Outlook profile and set it as the default profile. Add your primary email account first and confirm that Outlook opens normally before adding the iCloud account again.
When adding iCloud, please generate a new app-specific password from your Apple Account under Sign-In and Security > App-Specific Passwords, then use it instead of your regular Apple Account password. In Classic Outlook, select File > Add Account, enter the iCloud email address, and paste the newly generated app-specific password when prompted.
You may also refer to Microsoft’s guidance here: Add or manage an iCloud email account in Outlook
For this specific error: "Something went wrong" with error ADDriverStoreAccessNonLocalException
If the error still appears with a newly created Outlook profile, please let us know whether it occurs when Outlook starts or only when you try to add the iCloud account.
Please feel free to let us know if you have any further updates.
