Microsoft for Startups approved, but “You aren’t eligible for this offer” when activating Azure credits

My Microsoft for Startups application has been approved, but when I try to activate the Azure startup sponsorship I receive “You aren’t eligible for this offer.”

I joined Microsoft for Startups after May 29, 2026 using the new Azure Portal experience.

The official Microsoft for Startups Program Support link redirects me back to the Startups/Azure home page. The “Your Microsoft Team → Get program support” option is missing, and Azure Help + Support does not let me submit the issue.

My Azure account currently shows no usable startup subscription even though the Microsoft for Startups portal says my application is approved and additional Azure credits are available.

Please escalate my existing account to Microsoft for Startups Program Support for manual review of the Azure sponsorship entitlement/account linkageScreenshot 2026-10-10 221553

The “You aren’t eligible for this offer” activation error must be handled by Microsoft for Startups Program Support, but Microsoft Q&A cannot access or escalate an account; submit the case through the dedicated startup-help link while signed in with the Microsoft account that received the offer: https://aka.ms/startuphelp-mfs-portal. Microsoft explicitly directs this exact error to that support route.^1^

    What to submit

Because the normal Your Microsoft Team → Get program support control is absent, describe both the entitlement failure and the missing support entry point in the same request:

Subject: Approved startup cannot activate Azure sponsorship — “You aren’t eligible for this offer”

My Microsoft for Startups application was approved through the Azure Portal experience after May 29, 2026. The portal displays additional Azure credits, but activation returns “You aren’t eligible for this offer,” and no usable Azure Sponsorship subscription is available.

The documented Microsoft for Startups → Overview → Your Microsoft Team → Get program support option is missing. The startup support link redirects to the startup home page, and Azure Help + Support does not provide a submission option.

    Please manually review:

    • The Azure sponsorship entitlement assigned to my approved startup
    • The Microsoft account and Entra tenant linkage
    • The sponsorship owner/billing-profile association
    • Whether the correct sponsorship offer type was provisioned
    • Why the Program Support control is absent

Please correct or re-provision the entitlement and associate it with the approved Microsoft account.

    Attach:

    • The approval screenshot
    • A screenshot of the eligibility error
    • A screenshot showing the missing Your Microsoft Team support control
    • The application approval date and displayed credit expiration date
    • The affected Azure directory/tenant ID and subscription ID, if one exists
    • The sign-in address used for the application, supplied only in the private support form—not in this public Q&A thread

Credit activation, incorrect sponsorship offer type, and correction of the owner account tied to a sponsorship are specifically within Program Support’s scope.^2^

Why the Azure Portal path applies

For startups joining on or after May 29, 2026, activation occurs through the Azure Portal rather than the legacy Founders Hub workflow.^1^ The documented Program Support path is:

    1. Azure Portal → Microsoft for Startups
    2. Open Overview
    3. Locate Your Microsoft Team
    4. Select Get program support^2^

Your missing control means that documented route is unavailable; it is itself relevant evidence of an incomplete program/account association.

The approval screen says balances can take up to 24 hours to update, and Microsoft documents the same delay after account creation.^1^ If more than 24 hours have already passed, do not repeat activation or create additional Azure accounts; proceed with the manual-review request.

There is no separately documented public email address or manual escalation endpoint for this case. Record a short screen capture showing the redirect and add it to a Microsoft customer-support request, asking specifically for routing to Microsoft for Startups Program Support.^3^

Do not delete the startup profile or tenant while the entitlement is being investigated. Deleting the startup account can close associated Azure and Visual Studio licenses and cannot be undone.^4^
