Urgent request to recover data from a terminated Microsoft 365 Developer tenant

Hello Microsoft Support,

My Microsoft 365 Developer subscription was terminated due to an alleged violation of the program terms. I can no longer sign in to the Developer Program dashboard or access my OneDrive files.

The tenant contained both personal files and development-related files that I had not backed up elsewhere.

I respectfully request a review of the termination and confirmation of whether my tenant and its data still exist. If possible, I would like temporary access or an administrator-assisted export of my OneDrive and SharePoint data.

Please let me know whether data recovery is still possible and whether an appeal can be submitted.

Thank you.

Hi @Samuel Luiz

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, particularly since the tenant contains files that were not backed up elsewhere.

I’m just another user on this forum, not a Microsoft employee. Community members and moderators cannot access your Developer Program account, inspect the tenant’s backend status, confirm suspension or deletion dates, or recover OneDrive and SharePoint data.

The Microsoft 365 Developer Program is intended only for designing, developing, and testing applications, not for production use or long-term personal file storage. Whether recovery remains possible in your case depends on whether the tenant and its data still exist. The public information available here does not confirm their current status.

Since your subscription was reportedly terminated for a terms violation, rather than simply expiring, the standard expiration lifecycle should not be assumed to apply. The most appropriate next step is to contact the Microsoft 365 Developer Program support team and request a manual review. A similar Microsoft Q&A case directs affected users to Developer Program support, while noting that restoration is not guaranteed.

Please provide tenant identifiers and account details only through a private support channel, not publicly on the forum.

Unfortunately, no one here can promise that the tenant will be restored or that its data can be exported. If Microsoft confirms that the tenant and data have already been permanently deleted, forum participants cannot reverse that deletion. The Developer Program FAQ is the authoritative reference for the program’s subscription lifecycle and eligibility rules.

To receive the best possible support, you can submit a Microsoft Unified Support as Developer Support is offered as an optional component of it.

For more detailed instructions: Open a new Support request - Microsoft Engage Center | Microsoft Learn

Please note that this is a paid support ticket, which means it requires an active support plan or a one-time support purchase. However, the benefit of using this channel is that your inquiry will be routed directly to the Microsoft Product Group responsible for the specific service or feature in question. This team includes engineers and developers who work on the product itself, so they are best positioned to provide accurate, in-depth, and authoritative answers especially for complex or edge-case scenarios that go beyond publicly available documentation or community knowledge.

I hope this helps clarify the situation and points you toward the next steps.
