Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Since the messages are still visible on your iPhone, please do not remove or reconfigure the account on the phone yet, as that may trigger another synchronization.
First, sign in to the old email provider’s webmail in a browser. If the missing messages appear there, they remain on the old server and should be migrated by the old or new email provider. Changing Outlook to point to a different server does not automatically transfer mail from the previous server.
Next, check whether Outlook retained a local data file:
- In classic Outlook, select File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Data Files.
- Note the locations of any
.pstor.ostfiles. - Close Outlook and make a backup copy of those files before changing anything else.
- If you find a
.pst, reopen it through File > Open & Export > Open Outlook Data File. Outlook supports opening or importing a.pstand moving its contents into another mailbox.
A .pst may contain locally stored mail, particularly from a POP account. An .ost is normally a synchronized server copy, so its recoverability depends on whether the messages still exist on the corresponding server.
Unfortunately, there is no standard option to restore an entire Outlook mailbox directly from the iPhone. If the messages exist only on the phone, avoid resetting it and contact the previous mail provider or Apple Support before making further changes. Individual important messages can also be forwarded to the new address as a temporary safeguard.
Hope this helps. Have a nice day
