Use the Windows Get Help app to reconnect with a human support agent and ask that your existing case be reopened or escalated, because Microsoft Q&A cannot access or update support tickets.
- Open Start, search for Get Help, and open the app.
- Sign in with the same personal Microsoft account used when the original case was created.
- Enter: “Copilot microphone button missing in Microsoft Edge — follow-up on existing support case.”
- If automated suggestions appear, indicate that the problem persists, then select Contact Support.
- Choose Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Copilot, select Confirm, and request either:
- Chat with a support agent, or
- Have a support agent call you.
- Give the agent your existing case number and ask them to:
- Reopen or review the case.
- Check the developer escalation status.
- Confirm whether voice input is enabled for your account, subscription, and region.
Contact methods depend on the product, support hours, region, and subscription. ^1^
If Contact Support does not appear in Get Help, use Microsoft’s personal-account support page, choose Get help, describe the issue, and proceed to the offered chat option. ^2^
Do not post the full ticket number, email address, or other account information publicly again; provide it only in the private support chat.
In Copilot inside Microsoft Edge, Microsoft currently documents the microphone button for voice dictation and the Waves button for Copilot Voice or Vision as Microsoft 365 subscriber features. Merely using a personal Microsoft account does not establish that these buttons should be available; the agent should verify whether that account has an eligible Microsoft 365 subscription. ^3^
If you do have Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium, collect these details before contacting the agent:
- In Edge, open
edge://settings/help; allow any update to install, restart Edge, and record the full version.
- Open
edge://settings/profiles and verify Edge is using the intended personal Microsoft account.
- Open Copilot from the upper-right Edge toolbar and capture a screenshot showing the missing button.
- Open
edge://policy, select Export, and save the policy list.
- Record the Windows version from Settings → System → About.
Microsoft specifically requests the Edge version, active policies, sidebar settings, account type, and operating-system version when Edge/Copilot problems require support investigation. ^4^
If the button appears later but reports No Microphone Permission, select the lock icon in Edge’s address bar and set Microphone → Allow, then refresh Copilot. That permission fix applies when microphone access is blocked; it does not by itself establish eligibility for a missing voice button. ^5^
