GMail supposedly adds Outlook if an Outlook address is entered, and a six-digit code is provided from a different Outlook account.

It doesn't

    Hi, @William Scelonge

If you want the Outlook app, open the Google Play Store, search for "Microsoft Outlook," install it, then sign in with your Outlook account.

If you only want to add the Outlook email to Gmail, open Gmail > profile picture > "Add another account" > "Outlook, Hotmail and Live."

If it still fails, what exact error message do you get?

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!

On a Google phone, Outlook can be added in either of these supported ways:

    1. Install and use Outlook for Android
      • Open the Microsoft Outlook app.
      • Select Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Add an email account.
      • Enter the Outlook address and select Continue.
      • Enter the password and select Sign in.
      • If two-step verification is enabled, approve the sign-in request.
      • When asked Let this app access your info?, select Yes.
    2. Add the Outlook account to the Gmail app
      • Open Gmail.
      • Go to Settings > Add account.
      • Choose Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
      • Enter the Outlook address and select Next.
      • Enter the password and select Sign in.
      • If two-step verification is enabled, approve the sign-in request.
      • Choose how often Gmail should sync the account.

If the Gmail app method is not working, use manual setup:

    • Open Gmail > Settings > Add account > Other.
    • Enter the full email address.
    • Tap Manual Setup > Exchange.
    • Enter the password.
    • If prompted for server settings:
      • For Microsoft 365 work or school, use outlook.office365.com on the incoming server screen.
      • For Outlook.com, Hotmail, MSN, or Live accounts in manual Exchange setup, use eas.outlook.com.
    • Approve any security or device permission prompts.

If Gmail shows Action Required to Sync Email, open that message and tap Use another Mail app instead.

If a six-digit code is being requested, that is part of the sign-in verification flow. Approve the sign-in request when prompted.
