Dear All,

The following is happening to us;

After I successfully authenticate on Teams, it asks me to log in again.

Everything works correctly for a few moments and then it asks me to log in again.

Is there anything I can check locally on my laptop?

The credentials I use for MS Teams are the same ones I use for O365, and I have no problems with them in O365.

I hope you can help me.

    Hi Lucas,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I understand that when you sign in to Teams, the application keeps signing you out and asking you to sign in again.

Please try the following steps and let me know whether the issue is resolved:

    1. First, please check whether the same issue occurs when using the web version of Teams.
    2. Please clear the Teams cache by following these steps:

1/ Type Settings in the search box, and then select the Settings app from the search results.

2/ Select Apps > Installed apps, and then type Microsoft Teams in the search box.

3/ Locate the New Microsoft Teams app, select the More options (...) button on the right, and then select Advanced options.

4/ Under the Reset section, select Reset.

    5/ Restart Teams.

You can refer to the following documentation for more information:

If the issue persists after completing the steps above, I recommend contacting your tenant administrator (usually your IT department or the person who provided you with this account) and asking them to run the Teams Sign-in diagnostic in the Microsoft 365 admin center to help identify the cause of the issue.

Once you have successfully contacted your administrator, please provide them with the following documentation:

I hope this information is helpful.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

Yes. The supported local checks are:

    1. Select the Sign in banner or button in Teams and complete the sign-in flow, including any MFA prompt.
    2. If the sign-in window does not appear, check the notification area near the clock for the Teams icon with a badge, and open Teams from there.
    3. If the sign-in window still does not open, quit Teams from the notification area and reopen it.
    4. Make sure the laptop is connected to the network required by the organization before opening Teams. If the organization requires VPN, connect to VPN first.
    5. Avoid switching networks while Teams is open.
    6. Update Teams: select the profile picture in Teams, then Check for updates.

If Teams signs in successfully and then prompts again after a few moments, common documented causes are:

    • the organization requires a specific network and the device is not connected to it
    • the organization detects a sign-in risk and requires identity verification
    • a password breach event forced re-authentication
    • the device does not meet organization requirements
    • an underlying Microsoft Entra configuration issue in the organization

Because the same Microsoft 365 credentials work in other Office 365 apps, this is not necessarily a bad password issue. If the prompt keeps returning after the checks above, the next step is to contact the IT administrator, because repeated re-authentication is often tied to organization sign-in or policy configuration.

If the Teams desktop app continues to fail, another supported local step is to reinstall Teams:

    1. Uninstall Teams.
    2. Delete the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams folder.
    3. Install Teams again. Running the installer as administrator is preferred if available.

If that still does not resolve it, collect the Teams sign-in error code if one appears and provide it to the IT administrator or create a support request.
