  1. I own Office Professional 2021.
  2. I have the original 25-character product key. <PII removed>
  3. I may have entered an incorrect email address containing an extra underscore during redemption.
  4. The product now shows "Unlicensed Product."

    Hi, MMBB Treasurer

The extra underscore may matter if Office was redeemed under a different Microsoft account. Once a product key has been redeemed, you normally activate Office by signing in with the account linked to it, rather than entering the key again.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Open Word and select File > Account. If you see Belongs to, check which email address appears there. Then sign in to Services & subscriptions with that account and check whether Office Professional 2021 is listed. Also check any other Microsoft accounts you may have used, including the address with the extra underscore if you can access it.

If you find the license, sign in to Office with that same account. If the setup page says the key has already been used, don’t keep entering it; that message means it has already been redeemed.

If you can’t access the account or can’t find the license, contact Microsoft Support and explain the possible typo.
