Headphone make a chiming noise every few seconds with I try to use them with teams. They are BOS wireless but it also happens with my Logic wired headphones. I have reset the devices. I have toggle things off and on in Teams but nothing is working.

    Hi Mary,

Thank you for the detailed description and for the troubleshooting you have already done. The fact that this chime happens with both your Bose wireless set and your Logitech wired set is actually the key clue. When the same sound appears across two very different headsets, the common factor is Teams rather than the hardware, which is why resetting the devices on their own would not stop it.

This kind of periodic chime is almost always caused by the Sync device buttons feature in Teams. When it is turned on, Teams links the mute and volume controls on your headset with its own software controls, and on many headsets that pairing triggers a repeating tone every few seconds. Turning it off breaks that link and stops the sound, while your headset buttons continue to work normally.

To resolve the issue, please follow these steps(The following guidance is for Windows devices. If you are using a different device, please let me know):

    1. In Teams, select Settings and more (the three dots at the top), then Settings.
    2. Go to Devices.
    3. Find Sync device buttons and toggle it off.

    1. Restart Teams and test a call.

If the chime is still there, please check the Windows side:

    1. Click the speaker icon in the system tray, select Sound settings, then open More sound settings.
    2. On the Recording tab, select your microphone, then Properties.
    3. On the Levels tab, make sure the device is not muted.
    4. On the Advanced tab, uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device, then select OK.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow the steps above and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can continue working together to resolve the issue.

If you found the response useful, please consider marking it as accepted, as this may help other community members who are looking for similar guidance.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I look forward to continuing the conversation.
